Stomach problems are common in horses. They primarily affect sport horses, but also recreational horses, broodmares, and even young foals. Stomach complications arise when the stomach lining is damaged by excessively acidic stomach contents, leading to gastritis or stomach ulcers.
Horses with stomach complications often suffer from the following symptoms: reduced appetite, decreased performance, poor coat condition, teeth grinding, or weight loss.
